| Depart home city to Calgary, home of the famous Calgary Stampede.
Time permitting, enjoy a guided city tour including a stop at Canada
Olympic Park, home of the 1988 Olympics. This evening enjoy a
cocktail cruise aboard the SS. Moyie at the Heritage Park Historical
Village. |

Travel north to the friendly, cosmopolitan city of Edmonton. Take a
guided city tour of Edmonton and get acquainted with Alberta's capital
city including the Alberta Legislature Building, Jasper Ave, City Hall, Old
Strathcona historical area, Chinatown, The Avenue of Nations,
Edmonton's Art District, University of Alberta Campus, and prominent
residential areas. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the 8th
Wonder of the World – West Edmonton Mall. |

Our departure leaves the crowds at home today as we journey north,
stopping at Rochfort Bridge Trading Post, and on to Grande Prairie, the
fastest growing city in Alberta. Continuing on to Dawson Creek, BC we
pass through the great northern prairie region of Alberta. While in
Dawson Creek we will stop at the Mile '0' Post and the Northern Alberta
Railway Park, the beginning of the Alaska Highway. |

| We continue northwest today on the historic Alaska Highway as we drive
through British Columbia's picturesque Peace Country with its rich
abundance of natural resources of electrical power, agriculture land, oil,
gas, and forestry. We stop at Fort St. John, “The Energetic City” before
arriving in Fort Nelson |
| Day 5 | Fort Nelson / Watson Lake, Yukon |
| As we travel to the “Gateway to the Yukon” today, we enjoy a journey
through peaceful valleys and alpine meadows. We will enjoy a brief stop
at Liard Hot Pools, Canada's most spectacular natural hot springs.
Following a stop at the “World Famous Sign Post Forest” we will tour
the Northern Lights Centre to experience the myths, folklore and science
of the northern lights. |
| Day 6 | Watson Lake / Whitehorse, Yukon |

Today we cross the longest bridge along the Alaska Highway, the Nisutlin
Bay Bridge in Teslin, Yukon. You will enjoy the reflections of the glorious
range of mountains in the crystal clear lakes that dot the area, on our way
to Whitehorse, the capital of the Yukon and a city of character, colour
and contrasts. This evening you will be entertained at the famous
Whitehorse Frantic Follies. |

A local tour guide will join us this morning for a City Tour of Whitehorse,
which will include Miles Canyon, the Fish Ladder, the Transportation
Museum and the SS Klondike National Historic Site. We are then
welcomed to the Attractions Canada Award Winner, The Yukon Beringia
Interpretive Centre for a guided prehistoric journey to the ancient sub-continent
of Beringia. This afternoon you will have an opportunity to
learn about, walk among and feed the most magical animals in the world,
the reindeer, at a Reindeer Farm. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy in
the City of Whitehorse, and in the evening we visit the Yukon Mining
Company for a BBQ Dinner at the most popular eatery in Whitehorse. |
| Day 8 | Whitehorse / Dawson City |
| As we travel farther north this morning on the Klondike Highway we pass
Lake Laberge, made famous by Robert Service's poem, “The Cremation of
Sam McGee”. We stop at Carmacks to view the Carmacks Interpretive
River Front Boardwalk and discover the rich aboriginal history of the
area at the Tage Cho Hudan Interpretive Centre before arriving in
Dawson City, the heart of the Klondike Gold Rush. Tonight you can relive the past and try your luck at the historic Diamond Tooth Gertie's
Gambling Hall. |

You can't help but relive the return to fame and fortune in 1897 on the
streets of Dawson City today as we join them in celebrations for their
Centennial Year. This morning you'll visit an actual Gold–Mining Dredge
and try “Panning for Gold”. This afternoon we experience a historic
return to 1902 with “Afternoon Tea” and a tour of the historic
Commissioner's Residence. The remainder of the afternoon is yours to
enjoy the boardwalk of Dawson City. We will end our day with a
Panoramic River Cruise aboard a sternwheeler to Moosehide Island for
a Smoked Salmon Barbecue. |
| Day 10 | Dawson City / Beaver Creek |
| A part of your day today is travelling the remote lands of the “Top Of The
World Highway”. This highlight provides breathtaking vistas, which
typify the “Great Land”. At Tetlin Junction, Alaska, you reach the Alaska
Highway. When we reach Beaver Creek we visit the Visitor Reception
Centre and attend the Rendezvous Dinner Theatre in the evening where
songs and skits will add to your dining enjoyment. |

Today we depart Beaver Creek for historic Burwash Landing. We travel
the Alaska Highway with the magnificent St. Elias Range to the west
and along Kluane Lake. Along the way we make a stop at Klukshu
Village and Kluane Wilderness Village. A stop at Sheep Mountain
Visitor Centre, the home range of a herd of Dall Sheep, near Haines
Junction will be made before we return to Whitehorse for the evening. |
| Day 12 | Whitehorse / Dease Lake, BC |
| We travel the Nisutlin Bay Bridge again on our return east this morning
then we will head south into British Columbia and travel the famous
“Stewart–Cassiar Highway”. On this route you will see some of the most
inspiring beauty and abundant wildlife on this continent. The
communities on this highway provide a contrast of cultures, old and new,
and exposure to fascinating natural wonders. We will make a stop at Jade
City, a world famous jade mine and gift store before arriving in Dease
Lake, the “jade capital of the world” where we will spend the night. |

This morning we continue our southern journey on the Stewart–Cassiar
Highway passing through Mount Edziza Park and the Glaciers on our
way to Stewart, BC. Your camera is a must this afternoon as we board a
special tour coach and are welcomed by a local guide for a tour above the
spectacular Salmon Glacier as we drive from Hyder, Alaska and follow
the Salmon River, up the alpine, back into beautiful British Columbia. |

| As we leave Stewart this morning we travel through one of the most
scenic drives in North America, through towering coastal mountains,
icefields and hanging glaciers where waterfalls tumble down the
beautiful mountainsides to our destination of Smithers, BC. |
| Day 15 | Smithers / McBride, BC |
| We continue our eastward journey today following the beautiful rivers
and valleys of north central British Columbia, passing through the towns
of Burns Lake, Fraser Lake and Prince George, BC enroute to McBride. |
| Day 16 | McBride / Jasper, AB |
|
We travel eastward, through the great Canadian Rockies. We visit Mount
Robson, Canada's highest mountain peak and then cross the border into
Alberta. Upon arriving in Jasper enjoy an afternoon cruise on beautiful
Maligne Lake to Spirit Island. We will also take a gentle hike down
Maligne Canyon where you will see how the water has carved
spectacular crevices out of the mountains. |

| Say goodbye to the Canadian Rockies and travel east to Edmonton. This
afternoon visit the Provincial Museum of Alberta to learn the story of
Alberta's natural and human history including: Aboriginal Peoples,
Geology, Wildlife, Live Insects, Dinosaurs and the Ice Age Mammals. This
evening, whether you are looking for a great time or just a little “horsing”
around, you can't beat the speed and excitement of live horse racing at
Northlands – Spectrum. |
